Light & Motion Donates Light Systems to Help Save Wildlife

During the first week of November, San Francisco Bay was polluted by 58,000 gallons of oil being dumped by a 900 ft container ship. The the vessel rammed into a tower of the Bay Bridge, contaminating miles of coastline and killing hundreds of shorebirds.

Using a combination of help from hundreds of volunteer citizens and community groups and donations of a unique oil clean-up method ,hairmats donated by Matter of Trust, they battled relentlessly against time and oil. Undoubtably saving hundreds of birds lives and miles of coastland from further damage.

Light & Motion donated light systems and head straps so that volunteers could find birds through the night that were suffering the effects of hypothermia and would otherwise perish.
