November 29, 2007 Light & Motion Donates Light Systems to Help Save Wildlife
Using a combination of help from hundreds of volunteer citizens and community groups and donations of a unique oil clean-up method ,hairmats donated by Matter of Trust, they battled relentlessly against time and oil. Undoubtably saving hundreds of birds lives and miles of coastland from further damage. Light & Motion donated light systems and head straps so that volunteers could find birds through the night that were suffering the effects of hypothermia and would otherwise perish. During the first week of November, San Francisco Bay was polluted by 58,000 gallons of oil being dumped by a 900 ft container ship. The the vessel rammed into a tower of the Bay Bridge, contaminating miles of coastline and killing hundreds of shorebirds.
