CEO Barrett Heywood Receives the
Green Business and WRAP Awards
from City Council for
Light & Motion Conservation Efforts.

Motivated by our passion for the outdoors, Light & Motion received the Green Business award and the WRAP award by the Monterey City Council on April 18, 2006. The awards recognize Light & Motion for outstanding efforts in conservation and preservation of our environment and our planet. CEO Barrett Heywood received the award from Monterey Mayor Dan Albert

The Green Business Award is a multimedia (soil, water, and air) pollution prevention effort that creates a positive relationship between government, the public, and the business community. The Green Business Program recognizes those businesses leading the way in the environmental field within the Counties of Santa Cruz and Monterey.

To be certified “green," Light & Motion was found to be in compliance with regulatory agencies and to meet program criteria for conserving resources, preventing pollution and minimizing waste. This award shows how Light & Motion has made the choice to operate in a more environmentally responsible way.

Light & Motion was also recognized for receiving the WRAP award from the Waste Reduction Award Program (WRAP). WRAP provides an opportunity for California businesses to gain public recognition for their outstanding efforts to reduce waste. The Waste Board's WRAP is designed to recognize companies that develop creative and aggressive programs to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills.

Light & Motion is committed to the preservation of the environment that we all rely on. We recognize that it takes continual effort, learning and constant awareness to impact this earth as little as possible. The staff at Light & Motion encourages other businesses to do the same.
